Privacy Policy

EZVIZ Camera App ("the app", "we") is an independent, unofficial informational guide for setting up smart cameras, video doorbells, and DVRs. The app only displays step-by-step instructions and pictures — it does not connect to, control, pair with, or stream video from any camera or device, and it does not access your device's camera, microphone, or photo library. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any camera manufacturer.
Information we do NOT collect
The app does not access your device camera, microphone, or photos; does not collect your name, email, or account credentials; and does not access contacts, precise location, calendar, or files. Any text you type into on-screen fields shown for guidance (e.g. a sample WiFi name or SN number) stays on your device only and is never transmitted or stored by us.
Advertising — Google AdMob
The app shows ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google and its advertising partners may collect device information such as advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID / Apple IDFA), IP address, coarse location derived from IP, device model, and ad interaction data. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Consent (UMP) and App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
Where required by law (for example under GDPR/UK-GDPR for users in the EEA and UK), the app shows a consent message — powered by Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) — the first time you open it, letting you choose whether personalized or non-personalized ads are shown. You can review or change this choice at any time from the app's Privacy Settings option. On iOS, the app additionally requests your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before any tracking-related identifier is used for advertising; you can allow or deny this in the system prompt, and change your answer any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Remote configuration
The app uses Google Firebase Remote Config to control app settings (such as which promotional content or ad placements are shown) and may open external web pages in an in-app browser (Chrome Custom Tabs on Android, Safari View Controller on iOS) when you tap certain buttons or ads. Firebase may process a randomly generated app-instance identifier and general device/usage information to deliver this configuration; see Google's Privacy Policy.
Your choices
- Manage or withdraw ad-consent from the app's Privacy Settings option at any time.
- Allow or deny App Tracking Transparency in the iOS system prompt, or change it later in iPhone Settings.
- Reset or limit your device's advertising identifier in your device's system settings.
- Uninstall the app to remove any locally stored preferences.
Children
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; ads are served through Google's systems in accordance with its policies, including additional restrictions Google applies where an app or ad request is flagged as child-directed.
Data retention
We do not operate user accounts or a personal-data database. Data processed by Google (AdMob/UMP) and Firebase is retained according to Google's own retention practices.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will ship with an app update and the date above will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
