Privacy Policy

Phone Call (“the app”, “we”) is a phone dialer for Android. It lets you place and receive calls, browse your call history, manage contacts and favourites, block unwanted numbers and view statistics about your own calling. This policy explains what the app touches and where it goes.

In short: the app has no accounts and no servers of ours. Your calls, call history, contacts and notes stay on your device. We never upload, sell or share them. The only data that leaves your device is what Google's advertising SDK collects to show ads, and only where you allow it.

Acting as your phone app

Android only lets one app be the default phone app. When you choose Phone Call, the system grants it the permissions a dialer needs so it can show your calls, place them and display the in-call screen. You can change the default phone app at any time in Android Settings, and you can revoke individual permissions in Settings → Apps.

Information the app reads on your device

All of this is read through Android's standard providers and used to draw the screens you are looking at. None of it is transmitted to us or to any third party.

Information the app stores on your device

Your preferences and a small amount of app data are stored locally, in the app's private storage: theme and language, which tabs are shown, swipe actions, speed-dial assignments, your preferred SIM for a given number, dialpad settings, callback reminders, and any call notes you type. This never leaves your device through us and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

Exporting your call history

The app can export your call history to a JSON, CSV or PDF file, and import such a file back. You choose where the file is saved using Android's own file picker. The file is created on your device and is never sent anywhere by the app; what happens to it afterwards is up to you.

Recording and content of calls

The app does not record calls, does not listen to or store call audio, and does not read the content of your messages. It does not request microphone or SMS-sending permission. When you tap “Message”, the app simply opens your own messaging app with the number filled in.

Notifications

Notifications are used for incoming and ongoing calls, the quick-actions shortcut and the callback reminders you set yourself. They are generated on your device.

Advertising

The app is free and shows ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect device information such as the advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID), IP address, coarse location derived from that IP, device model and ad interaction data (views, clicks). This is governed by Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

Ads are never mixed with your call history or contacts: the app does not send your calls, numbers, names or notes to the ad network or to anyone else, and it does not use them to target ads.

Where required by law (for example GDPR in the EEA and UK), the app asks for your choice in a Google consent dialog before any ad is requested, and no ad request is made until you decide. You can change or withdraw that choice later from Settings → Privacy options inside the app, where that option is offered. You can also reset your advertising identifier or opt out of ad personalisation in your Android settings.

Analytics

The app contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK. We receive no usage reports from it.

Children

The app is a general-purpose phone utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
