Privacy Policy

Tile Twist & Match (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a casual picture-puzzle game published by XM Technologies. This policy explains what information is handled when you play, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information.

1. Information we store on your device

The app keeps your game data locally on your device only: level progress and stars, your in-progress puzzle boards and completion percentage, daily-puzzle history, remaining hints, and your settings (sound, music, vibration). We have no accounts and no servers of our own — this data never reaches us, and it is removed when you uninstall the app. The one thing the app does fetch from the internet is the puzzle photographs themselves, described in section 2.

The app does not ask for your name, email address, contacts, microphone, precise location, or health data.

2. Where the puzzle pictures come from

Every picture in the game is a photograph published on Unsplash by the photographer who took it. We do not host copies: when you open a level the app loads that photograph directly from Unsplash's image servers (images.unsplash.com).

Because your device requests the picture from Unsplash, Unsplash receives what any website receives from a visitor: your IP address, your device's user-agent string, and which photograph was requested. We do not send them your name, your advertising identifier, your game progress or anything else about you, and they send us nothing about you in return. Their handling of that request is covered by unsplash.com/privacy.

Photographs you have already played are cached on your device so levels reopen instantly and work without a connection. The cache is capped at about 30 MB, oldest pictures are discarded first, and everything in it is deleted when you uninstall the app. It never leaves your device.

When you save a finished picture to your photo library, the app also tells Unsplash that that photograph was downloaded — a condition of their terms that lets them credit the photographer with the use. That report identifies the photograph, not you.

Photographers are credited in Settings → Photo Credits, with a link to each of their Unsplash profiles.

3. Saving a picture to your device

When you tap the save (download) button on a finished puzzle, the app writes that single picture to your device's photo library. iOS will ask for “add to photo library” permission the first time; Android may ask for storage permission on older versions. This is add-only: the app never reads, browses, or uploads your existing photos. If you decline, the rest of the game works normally — only saving is unavailable.

4. Advertising

The app is free and supported by ads. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which also uses mediation to fill ad requests from these additional advertising partners:

PartnerRolePrivacy policy
Google AdMobPrimary ad network & mediationpolicies.google.com/privacy
Unity Ads (Unity Technologies)Mediated ad networkunity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy
Meta Audience NetworkMediated ad networkfacebook.com/privacy/policy

To serve, cap, and measure ads, these partners may process: advertising identifiers (Google Advertising ID on Android, Apple IDFA on iOS where permitted), IP address and coarse country/region derived from it, device model, OS version, language, and ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, video completions). We do not receive or store this data ourselves.

The app shows banner, interstitial (between levels), and rewarded video ads. Rewarded ads are always optional — you only see one if you choose to (for extra hints, to remove the watermark on a saved picture, or to triple a daily reward). Declining a rewarded ad never blocks progress.

5. Your ad-consent choices (UMP / GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the app shows a consent dialog on first launch using Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). Personalised advertising data is only processed if you agree there. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the same dialog (reachable from Settings → Privacy), and withdrawal takes effect on your next ad request. If you decline, you will still see ads — they will be non-personalised (contextual) instead.

6. App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

On iOS 14.5 and later, the app presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt asking permission to access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) for personalised advertising. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, the IDFA is not accessed and ads are non-personalised. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. The prompt is shown after the consent dialog and before ads load. Saying no does not limit any gameplay feature.

7. Legal bases (EEA/UK)

8. Data retention

Game data and the cached puzzle photographs stay on your device until you delete the app; the picture cache also discards its oldest entries once it passes about 30 MB. Ad partners retain data according to their own policies, linked in the table above — we have no access to it and cannot delete it on your behalf.

9. Children

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will act on it. Ads are delivered through Google's systems in line with its families and content policies.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR in the EEA/UK, CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the ad-consent choices described above. Because we hold no personal data ourselves, most requests are exercised directly through your device controls (reset/limit your advertising ID, ATT, and the consent dialog) or with the ad partners listed above. You may also contact us at the address below, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

11. Security

Game data is stored using the standard, sandboxed storage provided by your device's operating system. As we operate no servers and transmit no personal data ourselves, there is no account for an attacker to compromise.

12. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published here and the date above will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
